New platoon of cadets impress MP
CADETS from a newly-formed platoon at Balcarras School stood to attention during a visit by Cheltenham MP Martin Horwood.
The Charlton Kings platoon of the Gloucestershire Army Cadet Force (The Rifles), which is based at the school, was formed earlier this year, and has 12 active cadets.

Students performed first aid demonstrations after being taught by adult instructors and the St John Ambulance teams.
Mr Horwood said: "These cadets have worked hard in such a short time to achieve the successful integration into Balcarras School with the help of a great proactive headmaster in Chris Healy."

Gloucestershire Army Cadet Force County Commandant Colonel Lance Ranson praised the cadets for their hard work.
He added: "It amazes me every time I see a demonstration how happy, efficient and professional the cadets are in everything they do."
