New restaurant for Tewkesbury
A new restaurant is to open in Tewkesbury.
Chef Ryan Bennett plans to open Owen’s in Church Street on Tuesday, January 26.

The 32-year-old will run the business on the former Aubergine restaurant site.
He said: “We’re going to generally spruce it up a bit and create at least six jobs.
“It will help keep local trade going as we’re definitely going to try to use local produce.
“The food will be home-made, with a modern British theme.”
The opening of a new business is better news for the town, which has suffered recent blows with the closure of The Riverside nightclub and ladies’ fashion shop Carole Ann.
Ryan added: “Hopefully, we are getting the word around that not all premises in Tewkesbury are closing down. There are green shoots everywhere.”
Ryan has used his own middle name for his new restaurant.

“My friends and I dined at Owens last Sunday for a birthday lunch. It is great to finally have somewhere serving good food for reasonable prices in Tewkesbury. I normally have to travel as far as Cheltenham to have something decent to eat. We will definately be booking again in the near future.”

“Good to hear of yet another restaurant opening in town. Burlington Bertie's is a fantastic addition to the town & if Owens is as good as that may Tewkesbury will become a gastro destination. All we need now are parking meters in the town centre charging high fees but at least giving the people a choice and businesses a chance - They are the ruination of businesses in our town, and that is a wicked shame”

“The closing of the Riverside Nightclub was not a "blow for the town" at all.
The despicable dump was a blight on this lovely medieval town and I for one danced with glee when it closed its doors for good.
As for this new venture, good luck to you Mr Bennett, I look forward to dining with you in the near future.”

“This is great news. My husband and I live in the middle of town and would really welcome a new restaurant. Great Grandfathers is an outstanding restaurant, but we've tried nearly everything on the menu now! We'll be trying out Owen's in the near future, welcome to the town :-).”
