Novelist Jilly Cooper blasts incinerator as 'assault on rural heritage'
Jilly Cooper is backing the fight against a proposed waste incinerator at Javelin Park.
Novelist Jilly, fashion designers Savannah Miller and Lulu Guinness, Ecotricity boss Dale Vince and Tom and Henry Herbert of the Fabulous Baker Boys are among the Gloucestershire celebrities backing the fight against the plan.
"To build a vast incinerator right on the edge of the Cotswolds area of outstanding natural beauty, visible for miles around, represents an assault on our rural heritage," said Jilly.
Stroud mum and designer Savannah Miller said: "The proposed incinerator's monstrous proportions far exceed the need for our area. I am really frustrated that once again, common sense is being over ridden by corporate greed."

Gloucestershire County Council will decide planning permission for the Haresfield incinerator but has already awarded the 25-year incinerator contract to Ubaser Balfour Beatty.
The county council is likely to fork out a £15million penalty if it does not go ahead.
