Offenders refurbished pubs as part of punishments

OFFENDERS have reached out to help the community by renovating benches in Kingsholm.

Gloucestershire Probation Service and Gloucester City Council worked together to refurbish three benches in Denmark Road.

The benches were taken to the probation service, and, as part of their punishment, offenders there repaired them, stripped them down, and repainted them, replacing parts where necessary.

David Sutton, group manager for neighbourhood management, said: "During a walk round between the council's neighbourhood management team and local ward councilors three benches were identified which were in need of refurbishment.
