Offenders refuse to name associates
There have been two recent stories on TiG regarding sentencing of offenders that have refused to give details of accomplices. These accomplices have never been caught and are still at large, probably committing further offences.
Neither of the two guilty parties sentenced received jail sentences. One of these involved a knife point robbery.
It is my view that anyone guilty of a crime in which they are caught and found guilty that refuses to name associates is then guilty of Perverting the Course of Justice.
I believe that until they name their associate/s they are guilty of a continuing crime that means they are a constant potential danger to the public and should be sentenced to imprisonment and remain in prison until they name the associates.

“Offenders do get lesser sentences for cooperating with the police. Sentences cannot be extended because they don't cooperate. So there s already an incentive for doing so and conversely a penalty for not.”
