BROTHERS Ryan and Scott Gourley were the star performers for Lakeside as they came away from Plock Court with a friendly win.

Lakeside started brightly and took the lead after only three minutes, with Scott Gourley putting away a rebound after his initial shot was kept out.

The lead was short lived however as Ben Robertson beat the offside trap and was fouled in the box by the Lakeside keeper and Jordan Cooper calmly converted from the spot.

Ryan Gourley almost put his side back in front, latching onto Josh Pugh's defence-splitting pass only to see his effort clear the bar.

The action was end-to-end and Lakeside's Rob Jones had to be alert to stop Cooper scoring again.

Lakeside saw plenty of possession towards the end of the half, and their dominance was rewarded when Leroy Oderio headed Jones' long ball into the path of Ryan Gourley, who calmly rounded the keeper and slotted home to put his side 2-1 ahead.

Tuffley responded again however, Cooper again breaking free and finishing with a lob on 51 minutes.

They weren't level for long however, with Oderio scoring with another lob after Scott Gourley had headed into his path. They almost extended their lead soon after, but Scott Gourley's close range shot was well saved by Tuffley's Nic Sheppard.

Cooper could have a hat-trick not long after were it not for a superb Jones save low down at this right-hand post.

The game was marred by a serious injury to Oderio near the end. The game was ended early but was played in good spirits by both sides.
