Oldham: Victory is just the tonic to raise spirits
THE feel-good factor has returned to Cheltenham Saracens after their GFA Trophy quarter-final victory over Hallen on Wednesday night, according to boss Gerry Oldham.
After a goalless 90 minutes, Oldham's side prevailed 6-5 on penalties to bounce back from last Saturday's 4-0 home league defeat by Binfield.
They now face Bristol Academy in the semi-finals.
Goalkeeper Ryan Betteridge was the hero, saving two spot-kicks in the shoot-out.

Joe Donaghue, Lorcan Sheehan, Ethan Moore and Luke Tovey all converted from 12 yards after Harlie Price had missed the opener.
It was left to Jack Oldham to hold his nerve and dispatch the winning sudden death spot-kick and Oldham senior said it was exactly what his team needed.
"It was a really good game and a total contrast to Saturday," Oldham said.
"We showed movement, energy and our passing was good.
"It was a pleasing performance and it was a different changing room after the game.
"The lads were suddenly upbeat again and it proves that winning is the best medicine."
Saracens were due to play Witney tonight in the Hellenic League Premier Division, but the match has been called off.
Witney share with Carterton, who are at home tomorrow and the pitch is not able to cope with two matches in 48 hours, so Saracens' fixture will be rescheduled.
They will next take to the field at home to Highworth next Wednesday in the Floodlit Cup.
Oldham said: "I was hoping to arrange a training session for Saturday, but because we were due to play on Friday a lot of the lads have already made plans, so we'll give them the day off.
"I was feeling depressed after the Binfield game, but taking a step back we are still having a good season.
"We have games in hand on three or four of the teams above us and we are still in two cup competitions, so we'll rest and refresh and then do our best to progress in the Floodlit Cup next week."
Saracens lie tenth in the table after 21 matches.
Their next league fixture is at home to last season's champions Oxford City Nomads a week tomorrow.
