In his day job Bristol-based Danny is the Great Britain skeleton coach and trains the stars of the future.
But on Saturday's he plays between the sticks and last season enjoyed a spell with Almondsbury Town.
Tigers' boss Dave Mehew said the Almondsbury boss had highlighted Holdcroft to him.
"Dave Mogg also recommended him too," he said. "He is more than capable of playing at Blue Square North level.
"The reason why he has not been number one at Almondsbury is his commitment to the Olympic Skeleton Bob team and he is not about in October and November."
Mehew said Holdcroft's work with the daredevil sport which sees competitors racing face forward down a bobsled track on a small sled made him fearless and determined.
"He will start against Ledbury on July 14," he said. "I expect he will get a half against his old team too.
"From our point of view it is very hard to get second keepers. Danny is more than capable of stepping up to number one if he needs to.
"He is very focussed on his performance and that is what I am looking for in a player. Obviously he is working towards Olympic gold and he is going to be an asset to the team."
Skeleton is one of the three bob track events and is the fastest growing of all the bob sports.
The sport was successfully re-introduced to the Olympic arena at the Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City after a 54 year absence, as it was last held on the Cresta Run in 1948.
Meanwhile Mehew is also moving to sign a player based in the north for cover during midweek away games.
Teenager Sam Ellis signed for Gloucester City back in February 2007 and was named as a substitute for one game but failed to make a first team breakthrough.
The 19-year-old broke his leg playing rugby at Newent School in October 2007.
He is now studying at Sheffield University and Mehew said he will be joining the squad for pre-season training.
"He could be a good option for midweek away games," said Mehew. "Sam is like a young Matt Rose. Obviously home games will be tough for him but being based in the north will be ideal for away ties."
