A CLASSICAL orchestra will entertain an audience at Cheltenham Town Hall next week.

Orchestra of the Swan, based in Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon, spread their musical wings next Friday from 7.30pm.

They are joined on stage by critically-acclaimed violinist, Tamsin Waley-Cohen.

The concert begins with Mozart's charming Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and will be followed by two of Mendelssohn's youthful concertos, for violin and violin and piano.

David Curtis, artistic director and principal conductor of the orchestra, said: "To perform these two uplifting and enjoyable pieces with our associate artist and composer in the house was irresistible.

"Tamsin is an extraordinary artist with whom it's a great pleasure and privilege to perform.

"Her playing combines an extraordinary freshness with a maturity and integrity that belies her own youthfulness.

"There is stillness at the centre of Tamsin's performances that I find quite remarkable."
