Organ player scoops award for 50 years of tinkling the ivories
MORE than 50 years after he first started to play the organ, David Cobb is still proving tuneful.
The 79-year-old has just been awarded the British Empire Medal for his musical efforts over the last five decades at St Lawrence Church, in Sandhurst, Gloucester.

He was presented with his medal by Gloucestershire's Deputy Lord Lieutenant Robert Bernays on Sunday.
Mr Cobb is being recognised for tinkling the ivories at the historic church, parts of which date back to the 14th Century.

The British Empire Medal is awarded for civil or military service worthy of recognition by the Crown.
They were issued between 1922 and 1992, but were brought back earlier this year for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
