ROCK star Bryan Ferry's son Otis Ferry has been cleared of the "witness nobbling" charges which saw him locked up for four months.

Judge Martin Picton had previously described the announcement by the prosecution that they were discontinuing the two allegations of perverting the course of justice as "nonsensical".

Today he recorded the two not guilty verdicts on Ferry, 26, a keen huntsman in respect of those two charges.

Ferry, of Eaton Mascott, Shropshire, appeared at Gloucester Crown Court alongside John Deutsch, 55, of Chipping Campden.

The pair, are jointly charged with robbing hunt monitor Helen Ghalmi of a camera and assulting her during a meeting of the Heythrop Hunt near Stow on the Wold, in November 2007.

They also face alternative charges of affray,

Mr Ferry alone had been accused of perverting the course of justice by telling his former groom David Hodgkiss not to give evidence against him when he was due to stand trial on the robbery and assault charges at Cirencester Crown Court last September.

The case was aborted when the 'witness nobbling' allegations were made and Ferry subsequently spent four months in custody before being bailed in January to await trial.
