MARLON Pack believes Cheltenham Town's heavy home defeat by Accrington Stanley on Saturday has provided a timely reality check.
The 21-year-old midfielder lost his unbeaten record as captain as Mark Yates' side crashed 3-0 at the Abbey Business Stadium.

But he said the one positive outcome from a thoroughly disappointing afternoon would be the removal of any complacency which may have crept in as the Robins attempt to mount a second successive League Two promotion push.

"It was an uncharacteristic performance from us, but we have to learn from it," Pack said.
"Maybe it's a reality check and something that we needed, which can put us in good stead for the season ahead.
"We'll show our character now to bounce back during this tough run of games we have."
Cheltenham travel to Pack's former loan club Wycombe Wanderers, relegated from League One last season, on Saturday before home matches against Southend United and Oxford United.
Regular skipper Alan Bennett, another former Wycombe player, is set to return to the starting line-up at Adams Park having recovered from a shoulder injury.
Pack has enjoyed his spell with the armband, but he says he must learn to deal with disappointment better than he did on Saturday.
"Being unbeaten as captain before Saturday was pleasing so it was deflating to lose in that manner," he said.
"It's hard at times because you feel more responsibility and sometimes I am one of first to get down instead of keeping on going.
"It's definitely something I can learn from."
Pack knows Cheltenham must learn how to grind results out when they are not at their best if they are to threaten the top three automatic promotion places.
"We can obviously play better than that, but we still had chances and you have to be ruthless when not at your best," he said.
"That's how teams get promotion and we weren't at our best at Aldershot the week before, but we got the job done.
"When you fall behind early on it's hard and their third at the start of the second half killed us off.
"We have to do better than that and we'll work hard to put things right because no team wants to win more than we do."
Pack and Russ Penn are likely to be joined by an extra midfielder at Wycombe, with Darren Carter close to being handed his first start for the club.
The ex-Birmingham man was due to feature in a training ground friendly at home to Bailey Academy this afternoon (2pm).
