THE works of a composer that inspired Beethoven are to be given an outing in Painswick on Good Friday.

A concert by the Painswick Singers on March 29 will showcase Cherubini's Requiem, a rarely sung piece that boasts hints of Cherubini's operas.

The event will take place at St Mary's Church in Painswick from 7.30pm. It is free but there will be a retiring collection.
