Parking wardens appear in court
TWO private parking wardens have appeared in court charged with assaulting two members of the public in separate attacks.
Michael Leonard Bennett, 42, was accused of spitting at Trevor Pons on November 13, while George Robert Hunter Muir, 54, is accused of hitting a car door into Theresa Brown on October 23.
The men, both from Sandhills Avenue in Blackpool, denied the charges, which are alleged to have taken place at the car park near Blockbuster in Winchcombe Street.
Both men also pleaded not guilty to using threatening behaviour during the alleged attack on Mr Pons at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court yesterday.
Graham Daniels, defending, said both defendants would claim the assaults were accidental.
They will both stand trial on April 13 at the same court and were released on bail.
