Pensioner hit by car has 'life-threatening' injuries
A pensioner has been left with life-threatening injuries after being knocked down by a car.
The 80-year-old, from Gloucester, was walking along Bruton Way today at 10.30am when he was struck.
He is in hospital with serious head injuries.
The incident caused the closure of the road between London Road and Metz Way.

At least three passers-by called 999 to alert paramedics.
Police say the driver stopped and identified himself and no arrest has been made.
Anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to police should call them on 101 quoting incident number 113 of November 29.

“Saw this happen, so sad. Tried to cover the poor man with my daughters blanket, just shocking. The car was travelling way too fast on approach to the lights, hit him with so much force his shoe ended up about 30 metres up the road. the poor man was thrown about 7 foot into the air. Feel so sorry for him and his family, and also the wife of the driver who was distraught. Really hope this has a good outcome, my thoughts are with him and his family, especially at what should be a happy time of year.”
