A 'RADICAL' change came over pensioners at Bohanam House on Wednesday.

Psychedelic prints and flower headbands were donned for a 1960s-themed party at the Barnwood care home.

About 60 residents and guests got down and groovy, twisting and shouting to live music.

They also enjoyed a three-course retro lunch of prawn cocktail, braised steak and black forest gateau.

A bottle raffle raised £137.50, which will go to the Wish Tree Fund run by St John Care Trust.

Bohanam manager Nicola Grainger said: "It was great fun and everybody really enjoyed it.

"They had spent weeks making their costumes and decorations.

"There was lots of chats with them remembering the mini skirts they used to wear and friendly arguments over whether some of the songs were from the 60s or 70s."
