Pensions and the media gave the business brains of the Forest of Dean something to think about at the latest Grow Business Breakfast.

Around 80 businesspeople turned up to the Forest Means Business event on June 15 to hear from John Rockley of JDoubleR and Adrian McKie from Loralei Richards Wealth Management.

Mr McKie, from Loralei Richards Wealth Management, a partner practice of St. James's Place Wealth Management, spoke about the practicalities of pensions and new pension legislation before Mr Rockley, a former BBC Gloucestershire presenter, talked about the media and what journalists want in a press release during the event at the Conference Centre, Vantage Point, Mitcheldean.

Stuart Barnes from Forest Means Business, which is run by economic development company GFirst, said: "The talks really got people thinking and they were both enlightening and informative. Many people were unaware of the changes to pension legislation which will have a real impact on all our businesses and also knowing the real dos and don'ts when trying to get journalists to cover your stories will be a great asset for our businesses and their promotion in the future."
