People who think St Aldate's Church is closed are wide of the mark - they are very much open
"WE are open!"
That is the battle cry from members of St Aldate's Church, in Finlay Road, who claim people think they are closed.

"For some reason people think we are shut, even other churches think we are," said church warden Rose Hill. "Due to pastoral reorganisation in the deanery, we have ceased to be a parish church and become a Chapel of Ease of St Oswald's Parish.
"Bits of our parish have been given back to their original parishes, so maybe that is why. But we are very much open. We have baptisms, funerals and we can do weddings also. We have a very popular Tamil Christian group too."
