WHEN it came to reeling in bids at a charity auction, vicar John Partington had worshippers hooked.
The Winchcombe clergyman swapped the pulpit at St Peter's for an auctioneer's lectern in Tewkesbury.

Despite never having done so before, he handled the occasion well and helped raise £4,500 for the church, dealing with the sale of a series of fishing-based lots.
More than 100 items donated by parishioners were auctioned, with the sellers donating half or all of the proceeds to the cause.
Nicholas Granger, the auctioneer at British Bespoke Auctions in Church Street, gave way to Mr Partington.
