Is Pizza Hut in Cheltenham closing to be replaced by Yo! Sushi?
RUMOURS are circulating that a Pizza Hut outlet in Cheltenham could be closing.
Staff at the store's head office would neither confirm nor deny the rumours.
But a member of staff who works at the restaurant, in the Promenade, yesterday said they had been told it was shutting.
The news fuelled rumours that it could be replaced by Yo! Sushi, which is currently advertising job vacancies for a Cheltenham store. The Japanese food chain, which said 18 months ago it wanted to move to Cheltenham, is currently advertising online for a general manager, assistant manager, head chef and sous chef for Cheltenham.

Previous negotiations over a Cheltenham branch in the town centre fell through.
Cheltenham Town Centre manager, Martin Quantock, said: "Yo! Sushi is quite a big concern so I would think they would need the space of the proper restaurant.
"It has got a very good reputation as being a high class establishment and sushi is a fashionable type of food and way of eating at the moment. We know discussion with Yo! Sushi have been had in the past and they have been keen to come to Cheltenham and so they rumours could be true.
"But I would be quite surprised that Pizza Hut wanted to close down as I thought it was doing reasonably well and there are sometimes queues to get in it at the weekends. If true Yo Sushi! will be a fantastic addition."
Mr Quantock added that the location would be prime when the Boots corner development, anticipated for this year, went ahead.
It will see changes to Cheltenham's one-way and pedestrianised areas that will bring two-way traffic in front of the Town Hall and at the eastern end of Albion Street and Oriel Road.
A spokesman for Pizza Hut, which also has a shop in the High Street, said: "We continually evaluate the location of our restaurants to ensure they are in the best possible areas to meet consumer demand and we are in the very early stages of discussion regarding the future plans for our Cheltenham restaurant."
Yo! Sushi was unable to comment.
The rumours were reported on Twitter.
