Police are appealing for information after a fire destroyed around 20 tonnes of hay in Cam.

The fire happened between 5pm and 8.20pm on Monday January 28 at a property on Field Lane.

A wooden field shelter was set alight and round 120 small bails of hay weighing around 20 tonnes caught fire. The fire also destroyed a horse box and a trailer parked next to the shelter. Police believe that the fire was started deliberately.

There were three horses along with a variety of equine equipment housed in stables close to the field shelter. Fortunately due to the direction of the wind the horses were all unharmed.
