Police object to booze plan for city cafe
POLICE are objecting to a bid to extend hours so a cafe can sell alcohol.
Next week Gloucester City Council will consider an application from The Food Junction in Southgate Street, Gloucester, which asks for the go-ahead to extend opening hours to sell alcohol to 2am on Mondays and Tuesdays, to 3am on Wednesdays and Thursdays, to 5am on Fridays and 3am on Sundays.
Currently the licence to sell alcohol for consumption on and off the premises runs until 11pm.
The council's licensing sub committee is expected to make a ruling on Wednesday, February 13.
