The raid came at around 2.20pm when more than 20 police officers entered three homes simultaneously, battering doors down with battering rams, while police dogs searched the houses alongside dozens of officers.

Operation Sisco was undertaken as a result of information received from the public, said Detective Constable Jon Hume.

DC Hume, who was leading the operation, said they had expected the simultaneous raids had not delivered the expected results.

But he said: "Our new Force Crime Operations Team is dedicated to tackling crime throughout the county and will continue to act on all information given to police.

"We hope yesterday's action in Gloucester demonstrates our commitment to doing all we can to disrupt criminal activity in the area.

"If you have any information about those involved in drugs or other crime in the county you can call Gloucestershire police on 101 or you can remain anonymous and call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
