Popular "Gloucester lager" set for return
MUCH-missed cider is set to return, to the delight of its dedicated drinkers.
When GL Cider was ditched by Bulmers two years ago, it was mourned in Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire - where it's nickname was "Gloucester Lager".
But Much Marcle-based Westons Cider is set to bring the famous Gold Label brew, known simply as "GL" back.
Originally a Gloucester Cider Company product, that company was wound up in 1974.

It was bought by Bulmers and produced in Hereford for several decades.
However the medium sweet was retired by Bulmers' multinational brand owner, Heineken, which prompted a social media campaign to bring it back.
Westons has bought the brand and it will be produced and bottled at its Much Marcle factory.
The last keg was ceremonially buried at The Foresters pub in Cinderford - where it will be officially reborn at a private launch next Friday.
