'Pregnant Duchess needs peppermint'
MUM Emma Williams reckons the Duchess of Cambridge should try taking peppermint or ginger to combat severe morning sickness.
Emma, who is chairman of Stroud Valleys branch of the National Childbirth Trust, says around half of all women experience nausea in pregnancy and one in 200 have it seriously.

The Stroud mum of two said: "In terms of combating nausea it helps to eat little and often. Peppermint can be helpful and a lot of people have a lot of luck with ginger.
"I feel sorry for the Duchess. She has a serious condition requiring medical advice."

“I was extremely disappointed at being misquoted and misrepresented in this article. The Stroud Life reporter rang me asking what advice the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) gives to expectant mothers who suffer from morning sickness. I informed her that we recommend that getting enough rest and eating little and often can ease nausea, as can more traditional remedies such as, peppermint (teas) and ginger.
When asked about the Duchess of Cambridge's health I was quite clear that her situation was different and it was being reported by the national press that she was suffering from a condition called hyperemesis gravidarum – where pregnant women experience severe nausea and vomiting – often requiring hospital treatment. Although a relatively rare condition, for those affected it can be extremely unpleasant and debilitating. As I explained to the reporter, it is a serious medical condition and a quote from a midwife or GP would be appropriate. At no point did I say she would benefit from peppermint tea alone and to state so was unfair and incorrect.
This story presented an opportunity to deal with a real health issue that affects women in a sensitive manner. It is a shame it was not handled that way.

“What she needs, is leaving alone. Not much chance of that, as the media are more obssessed with reporting trivia, than real news.”

“Granted Prince William does look a little feminine but is there any need to have a picture caption calling him the 'Duke of Campbridge'?”

“"She has a serious condition requiring medical advice"
Quite, which she's getting. What she doesn't need is bad advice from hairy mentalists in the worlds worst local paper.”

“This is such a poor item - it is not newsworthy and the Echo should hang it's head in shame by even wasting the print on such an item, people pay good money for their paper - so publish news - not trivia about people more than a few of us care nothing about.”
