PUBLICANS Rita Rock, her daughter Sam and son-in-law Richard Sims have stepped up to take Pub of Year 2012 from the Gloucester sub-branch of the Campaign for Real Ale.

Previously five times country pub of the year, their watering hole The Tudor Arms on the canal in Slimbridge has just been named as the best in the area covered by the branch.

"Rita, her family and staff of more than 30 are to be heartily congratulated," said Camra Gloucester chairman Alan Stephens.
