Pupils "evacuted" from school in 1940s evening

YEAR 4 pupils were taken back in time at Linden Primary School as they jived their way through a 1940s evening.

It taught the youngsters what it would have been like to be evacuated during the Second World War.

The evacuation evening began with air raid sirens, meaning the 46 youngsters had to duck for cover in the school's library where the only rations available were corn beef hash.

However, once the danger had passed, the pupils all danced to Glenn Miller tracks after being taught to jive and jitterbug.
