Pupils have somewhere to hang out
YOUNGSTERS at a Forest of Dean school now have somewhere to hang out at playtime – literally.
Ann Cam Church of England Primary School in Dymock has just installed an adventure playground.
Bursar Liz Thrift said: "The children are really excited, they love it. They've been playing on it every playtime and lunchtime." The wooden adventure equipment is set up in a series of stations which allow the children to move from one activity to another and includes a climbing frame, a rope bridge and a balancing log.
The school's Parent, Teacher and Friends Association raised £3,500 for the equipment but it was the children themselves who decided what they got.
Mrs Thrift said: "The PTFA raised the money form Christmas concerts and firework displays and the governors knew we wanted to improve the playground, but it was the pupil's council which took a vote and decided to get this equipment. It's just been installed; we can use it all year round and the children love it."
