Pupils join Roman army
WHEN the Romans invaded Gotherington, it was clear which side was the winner.
But the stunt was part of the primary school's topic on the mighty army.
Year four pupils were paid a visit by Claudius Maximus, from the company Roman Exeter and taught how to train to be a Roman soldier.
Year 4 teacher Kate Wheatcroft, said: "They learnt about the discipline of the army and the kit and equipment they used. And also what it was like in Roman occupied Britain."
