Pupils get swift look at future careers
STUDENTS at Pate's Grammar School have been learning about dozens of different career paths at a quick fire 'speed dating' style event.
Around 180 sixth form students took part in the career day, which involved 35 companies, on Thursday.
Representatives from companies including Renishaw, Nelson Thornes, Soho Coffee, Fabric Architecture, and the Echo, sat at tables while the students spoke to each one on a rotational basis.
Jenny Eastwood, head of news at the Echo, said: "The event was busy and you certainly had to talk fast but it was really worthwhile.
The father and son relationship is special, catch that perfect bond at a special photoshoot for them.

"It was great to meet so many students who had great questions about their future careers.
"Let's hope it helped inspire a few reporters of the future."
The teenagers, aged between 16 and 18, only had a few minutes to speak to each employer and find out all they could before they were whisked on to the next one.
