Queues on M5 in Gloucestershire as great bank holiday getaway begins
Busy traffic queues formed on the M5 in Gloucestershire this evening as people dashed off from work in a bid to beat the great bank holiday getaway.
Motorists in the county reported long tailbacks on both north and southbound carriageways as people hit the road to get away for the long weekend.
People heading off for the weekend are hoping that the last bank holiday of the summer will bring some good weather before autumn sets in.
As millions began their travels to enjoy a well-earned break, forecasters said many parts of the country were likely to be hit with rain and those looking for sunshine this weekend should go west.
