Rare accordion donated to charity shop
AN old accordion valued at £245 has been donated to a charity shop in Gloucester.
The instrument was donated to the Sue Ryder shop in The Oxebode at the beginning of the month and has really hit the right note for customers.

"We get a lot of people in talking about it," said manager Tracy Arnold.
"It is from the 1930s and it is called Casali Verona. On eBay they are going for £300.

"We have put that we are looking for offers around the £245 mark."
There has been some interest in buying the instrument but nothing close to that price.
Tracy added: "We have had offers of £100 and £120 but we think it is worth more.
"You don't get things like this in charity shops much anymore. We had a Rolex watch in once and that went for a couple of hundred pounds, but it is rare."

“All depends on the condition of the bellows and reeds, of which there are many!
Old accordions cost a small fortune to get into a playable state. The ones you see going for £300-350 will most likely be fettled up and working.
Not saying the one they have isn't in good working order of course as I haven't seen it.”
