PARENTS and their children have been cooking up tasty treats at a Longlevens school.

The Parent Cafe at The Milestone School had a

style event and cookery workshop from Maggie Kirby of The Pampered Chef.

A spokeswoman from the special school in Longford Lane said: "Everyone had a great time. It was a real laugh and we all got to make some food.

"We also raised money for our next Parent Cafe which we can use for pampering treatments."

The Parent Cafe is a monthly event put on by the school to get families together.

The spokeswoman added: "Because our children come on transport the parents don't get to talk at the school gates and also, as they are all parents of children with learning difficulties, they can share their problems and help each other.

"It has been brilliant and the parents enjoy just having coffee and a chat or the other things like this cookery event."
