Redpath considering new role after Sale reshuffle
FORMER Gloucester head coach Bryan Redpath has been removed from his position as Sale Sharks' director of rugby.
Sale chief executive Steve Diamond yesterday confirmed he will be in charge of the team for the remainder of the season.
Responding yesterday to reports that former Gloucester boss Redpath had been axed, Sale – bottom of the Aviva Premiership having lost all of their opening seven league fixtures this term – released a statement which stressed the Scot had not been dismissed.
At the very least, though, his job there will be redefined, with Diamond clarifying that Redpath was considering an offer to take up a new coaching position.

Meanwhile, Diamond himself has taken over team affairs.
He said he will be in charge for the rest of the campaign, aided by John Mitchell – the former New Zealand coach who has been acting as a consultant at Sale – and, the chief executive hopes, Redpath.
Redpath took over at Sale in June after leaving Gloucester, part of an overhaul of the club as they left Stockport for the City of Salford Stadium

“Depends on his pride. If he is to retain the reported and alleged salary it would be worth him to bite his lip and rake in the cash. But then the money may not be enough to soothe his dented pride.”
