Residents in Podsmead asked to get involved
Podsmead residents are being asked to lend a hand with improvement works to their neighborhood with four clean up days in the area.
Arranged for September 11th and 12th and 18th and 19th, the cleanup days are an opportunity for local people to get together to tackle litter in the area and make the most of their open spaces.
Volunteers from the City Council, Gloucester City Homes, The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) and Severn Trent, along with residents will be undertaking a general tidy up of the area, as well as bramble-bashing and litter picking around the Milton Avenue open space and the area around the brook and balancing ponds.
To celebrate the event Gloucester City Homes will be providing a BBQ for those volunteering on the first day, 11th September, and the last 19th September.

Councillor Kathy Williams, Cabinet Member for Environment said: "Days like these are a great opportunity for residents to come together and tackle anti social behaviour, such as fly tipping and littering, head on.
"Working together like this helps build pride in an area and also helps those who live there tell the Council, Gloucester City Homes, TCV and Severn Trent what's needed for the future.
"These cleanup days not only help clean an area up in the short term, but also build pride, and makes people realise how they can make a positive impact on their community."
Volunteers are asked to join Council officers and members of the TCV team for as little or as long as they can, from 10am to 3pm around the play area.
Equipment will be provided, but those attending are asked to wear suitable clothing and footwear and to bring gloves if possible.
