Roadrunners prove efficient
BOURTON Roadrunners only managed to raise two teams for the Gloucestershire County Cross-Country Relays – but both managed medals.
The Super Vet 60 team started with Brian Hulcup storming round the first leg to take them into the lead.
Norm Lane took on the second leg and held the gold medal position well.
Robin MacDonald – in his first race in some months – ran the final leg, and despite being caught halfway round held on for a well deserved if not surprising silver team award.

Richard Bufton led off the scratch Vet 40 team and dug in for a good first lap.
Chris Hartley, after ankle surgery, ran an exciting and enthusiastic second lap and held up well.
Fresh from running the fastest Vet 60 lap of the day Hulcup kept the team in third position after the third lap.
And Lane, dragged in to run the final leg, held the team's position despite much younger opposition for Bourton to snatch a brilliant bronze medal.
