Roads in line for improvements after cash boost
Highways across Gloucestershire are in line for a makeover as county councillors have each been given £10,000 to spend on their area.
The county council has approved the proposal to give every councillor money to spend on highways projects in the ward they represent.
The Highways Local initiative, which is a two-year pilot scheme, will see councillors talking to people in their community and highways managers to decide which roads and pavements need improving.
