Roadworks planned for busy Gloucestershire road
Commuters will face delays as work to prevent landslips begins on a busy Gloucestershire road this month.
Work will begin on the A46 at Cooper's Hill, between Gloucester and Stroud, as part of a £3 million scheme to stop repeats of incidents during the 2007 floods, on November 30.

The A46 will be affected for four weeks
Commuters are likely to face delays for four weeks while the work is carried out.
A Gloucestershire County Council spokeswoman said work would include drainage improvements, repairs to a safety barrier and infilling of voids in the verge.
Councillor Stan Waddington, Gloucestershire County Council lead on environment, said: “We have to undertake this drainage work now so that we are ready for the next stage which is stabilising the main landslip and retaining wall."
And he said further work would be carried out next year.
“The stabilisation measures are not due to happen until next year but in the meantime we have to undertake the necessary drainage works to reduce the current rate of movement and risk of a further landslip during the winter months," he added.
“In order to minimise disruption to the travelling public this work will be completed with shuttle working of traffic under signal control.
"The shuttle working will, however, be limited to off peak hours (0900 – 1530)."

“Anon Charlton Kings It was ¿Vorsprung durch Technik¿ Two Audis having a punch up. Del Boy quotes the line when trying to comfort a German girl about to give birth to a baby BMW. The degree these two car manufacturers: Audi and BMW will go in trying to prove they exceed the advantages of a Mercedes Benz. Forget it. No Chance. ¿Oh lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz. My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends. Very true Janis”
