INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into an attempted armed robbery in Cheltenham.

A man carrying a metal bar demanded money from a member of staff at Up Hatherley post office on Saturday morning.

He smashed the glass screen in the shop before fleeing empty-handed.

The Hatherley Road post office remained closed yesterday as the damaged is being repaired. Customers should use the Warden Hill Post Office in Salisbury Avenue instead.

“Try and keep up Tig. The Post Office was open Wednesday March 06, probably as you were typing this story out.

How about calling them and asking if they are/will be open, before putting this story on here.”
