Cheltenham Town: Robins eye a deal for Blades striker Porter
MARK Yates is believed to be lining up an approach for Sheffield United forward Chris Porter.
The Robins boss last week missed out on top loan target Paul Benson, who turned down a move from Swindon Town.
The Echo understands that Porter is now Yates' priority, with the 29-year-old struggling to break into Danny Wilson's Blades side, who sit fifth in League One.
Wigan-born Porter missed the Christmas period with a hip injury, but he has now regained full fitness and Wilson is thought to be keen for him to play some first-team football.

Porter started his career at Bury before a switch to Oldham Athletic, helping the Latics reach the League One play-offs with 22 goals during the 2006/07 campaign.
He moved to Motherwell in the following season, before becoming Nigel Clough's first signing for Derby County in 2009.
The forward joined Sheffield United on a two-year deal in the summer of 2011 and netted five league goals last season.
Porter has scored twice this season, but has not featured since December 15, when he started the 0-0 home draw with leaders Tranmere Rovers.
Wilson has since added to his squad, pushing Porter down the pecking order, and the 6ft 1in striker would fit the bill for Yates, who is looking to add more firepower to his Robins squad for the run-in.
â Cheltenham Town's back-up goalkeeper Connor Roberts has been named in the Wales Under-21 squad to face Iceland on February 6.
Boss Geraint Williams has named seven uncapped players in the squad for the friendly, including Roberts.
The Wrexham-born 20-year-old joined Cheltenham on a one-year deal following his release from Everton last summer, but he is yet to make his first-team debut due to the form of number one Scott Brown.
â The Robins are still holding out hope of tomorrow's game against Rochdale going ahead as planned.
However, if the game does fail to beat the freeze, the club are believed to be looking into the possibility of the game being played next Tuesday, January 29.
