THEY spend most of their Saturdays on the terraces belting out songs about the Robins.

But tomorrow morning eight Cheltenham Town fans will be showing their support for Mark Yates' men on television.

They will line up in the Luther Blissett stand on Soccer AM – Sky Sports' popular football show.

Season ticket holder Alex Powell, 25, of Merestones Drive, Cheltenham, said: "The whole day and experience will be brilliant because we've all seen the sort of thing that happens on the show.

"There has been a lot of talk about the interviews we will have to do and the challenges we'll take part in.

"There could be some funny stories revealed about us all, as we had to send one in about each of us for the application.

"When I saw the advert I had a ring around and applied immediately and we're all looking forward to it."

The lads will face a 20-minute grilling from presenter Helen Chamberlain. They will then take to the cat walk in a "walk-off" against co-host Max Rushden and an attractive female guest known as the Soccerette.

Plumber Alex, whose favourite Robins players are Neil Grayson and Grant McCann, said the team is looking forward to beating the top score on the infamous Road to Wembley game.

The challenge involves kicking footballs into a scale model of the national stadium in the studio's car park, named after former football player Frank McAvennie.

They answered a call to arms on the club's website last month and were given the good news by show bosses last week.

The group is being put up in a plush hotel near the Isleworth studios in west London and given a night out the evening before appearing on the show.

In return for Sky's hospitality they are taking bags full of club memorabilia to be displayed on the set for the rest of the season.

Another of the group is 29-year-old Buildbase employee Daniel Rogers, of Alstone Avenue, Cheltenham.

Daniel, whose favourite Robins player is John Finnigan, said: "As part of the Wyman's group we are the noisy ones in the ground and we want to take that on to the show.

"It's something we've always wanted to do but the last time they had Cheltenham fans was three or four years ago, so the chance doesn't come around very often."

Making up the rest of the eight-man team, who all sit in the In2print Stand for Robins matches, are Dan Hopkins, Ricky Clark, Shaun Page, Andy Watson, Dan Penney and Chris Cole. The appearance coincides with the Robins' away game at Barnet, which the fans will attend after the show.

Cheltenham Town press officer James Brown said: "We are obviously wishing good luck to the lads who are going on Soccer AM. I believe it's the Wyman's group, who have been fantastic all season and are always singing and getting behind the club. I hope they give Helen and Max all they've got and have a good time."
