Robins on a mission
CHELTENHAM Town are stepping up a drive to bring more young fans to football.
In the last few months the club's Junior Robins Fan Club has jumped from membership of 70 to 464 following the decision to give free tickets to all home league matches to junior school children.
"We're delighted with the response we've had from our young fans and thrilled that our Junior Fan Club is growing so fast, but there's still plenty more for us to do," said club director Tim Russon.
The Robins are now planning closer links with local schools and want to take the players into the classrooms and bring youngsters into the dressing room at Whaddon Road.

"We want to get the players into local schools as much as we can to help in any way we can, and at the same time it would be great to have youngsters coming to the ground for lessons – the first-team dressing room as a classroom is something that hopefully would excite them," added Russon.
The club are also re-launching their popular match-day Flying Squad with the help and backing of new sponsors Stagecoach West, who will also be supporting the club's other junior initiatives.
Nathan Griffith-Williams, marketing manager for Stagecoach West, said: "We are delighted to be supporting the Flying Squad as well as other activities with CTFC's young fans."
