A HEAVYWEIGHT of the music industry will join the debate over a proposed badger cull in Gloucestershire today.

Queen guitarist Brian May will be speaking on the issue, which could see a trial cull zone introduced near Tewkesbury.

The Government has approved the measure to stop the spread of Bovine Tuberculosis among cattle.

It means badgers could be shot as early as September unless an appeal by the Badger Trust overturns the policy.

Hundreds of people from Cheltenham have signed a petition against the cull, blasting it as cruel.

Rock star May will weigh in with his views at a public meeting about the cull at the Bells Hotel in Coleford from 6.30pm.
