Roman tour with phone app
HISTORY is getting a technical update with a new mobile phone application showing life in Roman Cirencester.
The Corinium Museum is using the app to give its visitors an enhanced tour.
Cirencester firm TapMob has created the application for the Cotswold District Council-run museum, which features all the key archaeological sites.
The app can also function away from Cirencester so it will appeal to anyone interested in Roman Britain or studying the topic.

Grants have come from Cirencester-based Winstone Trust and the Friends of the Corinium Museum. It will be available to download early in 2013.
Museum curator Amanda Hart said: "We're harnessing the benefits of mobile technology as a tool to link the town's Roman history with our display objects."
