Roper leads the Harriers home
DAVE Roper continued his good recent form with 13th place in the opening race of the UK Cross-Country Challenge series at Ashton Court in Bristol.
Ben Robert also impressed with eighth place in the Under-13 boys race, while Beth Wynne finished 25th in the Under-20 women's race and Freya Lane came home 19th in the Under-13 girls race.
Andrew Kaighin made a return to action after a stress fracture injury with a low-key win in the Severn AC Chocolate Biscuit cross-country race at Plock Court.
Kaighin and the host club's James Rose soon established themselves at the front of the race and remained locked together for the full 4.5 miles before the sprint for the line.

This resulted in a dead heat, with officials unable to separate the two runners.
Will New showed good form as he placed eighth while representing York University in an inter-universities race, while Elliot Prince ran a time of 61.44 at the Great South Run in Portsmouth.
