Rovers trio suffer late agony with England
THERE was late heartache for Forest Green's England C internationals as Turkey ran out 1-0 winners in the Challenge Trophy semi-final.
England were captained by Rovers defender Jamie Turley, who two days earlier had picked up the Under-23 side's Player of the Year award from the FA.
Turley lined up alongside his New Lawn team-mates Eddie Oshodi and Kieron Forbes in front of a packed crowd of 3,212 at Princes Park in Dartford, but an 87th-minute strike put paid to the home team's hopes.
It was nonetheless an encouraging night for Paul Fairclough's non-League representatives, who were up against a strong Turkish side containing players with Champions League and even full international experience.

The only goal of the game was scored by Galatasaray striker Burak Yilmaz and came while England were down to ten men, with Luton Town defender Simon Ainge off the field receiving treatment.
Yet Fairclough's men never looked outclassed against the Crescent Stars, for whom Aydin Yilmaz, Emre Golak and Soner Aydogdu could boast senior international caps.
Turley, Oshodi and Forbes emerged from the match without any injury concerns and now face a top-of-the-table Blue Square Bet Premier clash at Luton this Saturday.
