HAVE YOUR SAY: Your favourite decade
A NEW online poll has revealed that the eighties is the most popular decade.
The decade that can boast highlights such as new-romantics, yuppies, My Little Pony and The A-Team topped the public vote.

But what do the people of Gloucestershire remember as the greatest decade?
Was it the seventies, with flower power, flares and men in makeup, or perhaps the swinging sixties with Beatlemania, Carnaby Street and the man on the moon...
Whatever your view, use the form below to let us know...

“I'm 99 % of people will always vote for the decade from which they grew up in . Mines the 80's .Just for the fact that being a child during this decade was the last innocent decade!”

“My favourite decade is always the next one.
For the 2010's - London Olympics, paying off mortgage, children growing up and hopefully the country getting to grips with renewables.”

“I was born in 1976 so don't remember the 70s at all really but the 70s and 80s are my favourite decades, You can't beat a bit of T-rex or Slade while wearing sparkly platforms and flares! Glam Rock rules!.... (and so does Gene Hunt.)”

“For me it would have to be mid seventies to mid eighties. Much more personal freedom, less crowded and no political correctness. I had a great time doing things that would in this much changed world probably be frowned upon now, if not even illegal but no one came to any harm.
I'm sure I had a better time then than the youngsters of today are having now.
However these things are no more than fond memories and you can't live in the past. However I would like to at least see some of "the way it was" return. Suppose the obligatory risk assessment would put a stop to any chance though.”

“I like this decade and wouldn't mind if I could live through a few more favorite decades to come. Quite a few people of my age haven't managed to see this one as a favorite/ Live for today not yesterday.”

“Gotta be the seventies - great music, great fashion, and a youth that actually still believed they could change the world!”
