DESTROYED: Sandy the dog. Inset: Our story.
His mum Gemma, 23, of Podsmead, has now had Sandy put down at a veterinary surgery in Painswick Road. She said: "The vet told us that some dogs are just born with a screw loose and can potentially attack at anytime. Riley was too scared to go home at first so we were staying at my mum's house, but now we are all back.
"I am so proud of Riley, he has been really brave."
Riley, who is now recovering will return to Robinswood Primary School on Monday.
