School throws open doors to share their success

COLOURING, reading and joining in musical demonstrations were just some of the activities on offer at a school open day in Cheltenham.

Pupils and staff at Holy Trinity Primary School, in Fairview, threw open their doors to prospective parents and pupils to give them a glimpse of what they were all about.

Year 6 pupils at the school acted as tour guides – proudly showing off the facilities, which include a brand new music room.

Alison Tugwell, co-headteacher at the school, described the day as a roaring success.

"Following our very positive Ofsted and outstanding inspection in the summer term, it was our busiest open day by far," she said.

"Visitors enjoyed seeing the school in action and children learned and played happily together. Everyone was really impressed with how well the guides did too.

"These open days are important for us as they are a good chance to give people thinking of sending their children here an idea of what we are all about."
