School twins with Kenya for project
A FOREST of Dean school has been chosen to develop international links with Kenya as part of a major new twinning project to boost global education.
Connecting Classrooms is a UK Government and British Council education initiative.
Coalway Junior School has been selected in recognition of its commitment to teaching students about global issues.
Teachers and students are working with Maridadi School, in Mombasa, to learn how to become responsible global citizens and to develop skills to work in a global economy.

Kim Furness, the international co-ordinator at Coalway Junior School, said: "Our school has developed successful international links over the past few years and the staff and pupils at Coalway are delighted that we have had our existing link with Maridadi School supported through the Connecting Classrooms scheme.
"Pupils in both schools will learn about the importance of plants and animals in each other's natural environment and will be responsible for suggesting ideas about how their school grounds could be improved to encourage wildlife."
